Brief Overview of Application
TextConverter is a graphical text editor application written in the Java programming language using the Java Standard Edition (SE) platform. The cryptographic elements were provided through Sun Microsystems Java Cryptographic Extension (JCE), which was integrated into the Java SE as of version 1.4. The tool provides common text editor functionalities. For example:
- opening/saving file (recognizing if the text was encrypted with this tool)
- undo/redo
- cut/copy/paste
- listing of up to four previously saved or opened files
While also providing other useful features, such as:
- changing the Look & Feel of the tool
- password locking the tool
- changing your password
- buttons to Encrypt or Decrypt the text currently being viewed with a single-click
